Shoddily-built RDP houses in Mpumalanga are literally falling apart.

Zakewu Mavimbela, 6, had his leg broken in three places when a concrete brick fell on him at his family's four-roomed house at Tjakastad, near Badplaas.

Now the family have moved back into the mud house in which they lived before the government gave them the RDP house.

Arthur Ndlovu, a spokesman for the Department of Housing, said no complaint had been received about "collapsing" houses, but they would investigate the allegations. - Sakhile Mokoena
