School hits high spot

A rural high school is the pride of Limpopo because of its exceptionally good results every year.

Since its establishment in 1990, Tlakale-Mashashane High School, which caters for all the 29 villages of GaMashashane, west of Polokwane, has never had a pass rate of less than 80percent.

When Sowetan visited the school yesterday, the principle, Rachel Mantshiu, said the school had a culture of hard work and had dedicated teachers who went "the the extra mile in ensuring that the pupils benefit".

She also said that the school strictly maintained high standards.

"Here we are still very strict with time management. Our pupils know that time is very important. Even on the issue of school uniform we are very strict," Mantshiu said. - Selby Makgotho
