Thirty members of the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru) appeared briefly in the Vanderbijlpark magistrates' court yesterday on charges of assault and trespassing.

They were arrested after demonstrating and demanding the removal of the Vaal Rand Flying Squad unit commander Superintendent Poosha Moodley.

They claim Moodley is racist. They are expected to appear again on February 13. - Ntwaagae Seleka
