South Africa will ask the UN Security Council to put a hold on its listing of two South Africans as terror suspects, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Aziz Pahad said yesterday.

"We want to make sure that anybody who goes on the list is there for a good reason, because the consequences are so very serious," he said.

Junaid Dockrat, a Johannesburg dentist, and his cousin, Farhad Ahmed Dockrat, have been named by the US as terror suspects with links to Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda. - Sapa
