A teenager released on bail for housebreaking is back behind bars, this time for sodomising six young boys on Monday.
The boys, aged between 13 and 14, from Lothair near Ermelo in Mpumalanga, were searching for wild fruit.
The knife-wielding suspect confronted them and ordered them to remain silent.
Police spokesman Superintendent Abie Khoabane said: "He told one of the boys to follow him.
"He threatened the others that if they tried to escape he would kill their friend with his knife."
The suspect, who had been released on bail three days earlier, sodomised all six boys and then released them.
The traumatised boys reported the rapes to their parents.
The police were called and a suspect was arrested.
Khoabane said the boys were receiving medical treatment and counselling.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon on charges of sodomy.
