Mbeki is either ignorant or just plain stupid. He believes that rampant crime is exaggerated or is media sensation. He should walk in Hillbrow without his bodyguards for just a day and he will change his attitude.
I lived in Hillbrow from 2000 to 2004 and witnessed horrible crimes. I saw ever more people falling victims to violent crimes. I would still be living there, but left because of crime.
I'm a black man and am paranoid because criminals have taken control of our streets.
