Fraud charges will be brought against 34 public servants in the Witbank magistrates' court this week.

Fraud charges will be brought against 34 public servants in the Witbank magistrates' court this week.

The Special Investigating Unit's spokesman Senzeni Ngubeni said yesterday that they include education, health, welfare, police, printing works, justice, water affairs and roads and transport officials in Gauteng and Limpopo.

The charges concern the alleged fraudulent receipt of social grants, specifically child support grants, disability grants and care dependency grants.

Ngubeni said 43000 cases of social grant fraud had been identified throughout the country. - Sapa
