Rangers beef up
A string of poor results by Mvela Golden League club Fidentia Rangers has forced the management of the Cape side to look for reinforcement in their technical department.
Andrew Tucker, the side's chairman, told Sowetan yesterday, they were on the brink of bolstering their technical staff.
Tucker admitted that their chances of challenging for promotion to the Castle Premiership were fast becoming slim.
Rangers, coached by Ramadhan Nsanzurwimo, suffered their fifth consecutive defeat when they were pipped 1-0 by Walter da Silva's Durban Stars at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Friday night.
Tucker's statement has fuelled speculation that Nsanzurwimo was on his way out at Rangers.
"We are not firing anybody in the technical section," he said.
Free State Stars fortified their title ambitions with a 1-0 win over GaRankuwa United in Mabopane on Saturday.
Elsewhere, also on Saturday, Humphrey Khaniel struck in the second half to give Steve "Disco" Makua's Witbank Spurs a 1-0 win over the battling Western Province United at Ackerville Stadium.
Bay United drew 1-1 with Winnerspark in Port Elizabeth and Vasco da Gama did the same against University of Pretoria when they fought out to a 2-all stalemate in Cape Town in other matches played on Saturday.
