UDM leader Bantu Holomisa has slammed the justice system for the delay in convicting and sentencing Boeremag members.
They were allegedly involved in bombings in Soweto in 2002 in which one person was killed.
"In general, the justice system is too slow. The police arrest people, then dockets go missing. It is judges, magistrates and lawyers that are frustrating the system," Holomisa said.
His comments come in the wake of the arrest of fugitives Rudi Gouws, 28, and Herman van Rooyen, 33, by police special force units. The pair had been on the run since escaping from the Pretoria high court on May 3 last year.
Along with 20 others, the two men had been charged with murder, treason and sabotage. They will appear in court on January 29 to face additional charges of escaping from custody and illegal possession of firearms.
