Talented young golfer Siphiwe Siphayi (pictured) is among the four players who will take part in the Australian Junior Masters in Perth, Australia, in May.

Siphayi did well in the Ernie Els Junior Tour that was played at different golf courses in South Africa in the past two weeks.

The others who will be representing South Africa abroad are Keenan Davidson, who came second to Siphayi in the order of merit in the boys section and Bertine Strauss and Monique Smith, who came first and second in the order of merit in the girls section.

Siphayi, who registered his first win in the 2007 Ernie Els Junior Tour in George last week, is confident of doing well in Australia.

He said after the win: "Everything came right for me, so I was really happy. I knew I was in with a chance, so I just concentrated on playing each shot, rather than worrying about what everyone else was doing."

Hannes van Niekerk, chief executive of the Ernie Els and Fancourt Foundation, said the four youngsters were highly talented, and that he believes they will do well.

"They will be playing against champions from different states in Australia and it will not be easy. But it will be a wonderful experience."
