The young prostitute who was brutally assaulted by Pretoria police on Monday night has disappeared after being discharged from a hospital in the city.
Director Govindsamy Mariemuthoo, of the Gauteng police, said: "We are still trying to trace the missing girl and the other four who were arrested with her to take her statement."
It is alleged that the policeman found the young girl and her colleagues standing on the street and tried to force them into a van.
When the victim refused to get into the van, the policeman allegedly assaulted her and smashed her head against the police van until she lost consciousness.
