A memorial service for the late Winnie Mabaso will be held in Migson Manor, near Finetown, at 10am today.
Mabaso, 67, died at the Carstenhof Hospital in Midrand last Friday after a short illness. She ran the Zenzele Counselling Project and Orphan Care, a haven for 60 orphans and child-headed families in Finetown.
Mabaso was a Sowetan, Old Mutual and SABC 2006 Community Builder of the Year finalist.
She will be buried at the Roodepoort Cemetery on Saturday at 11am after a three-hour service at the Meadowlands Zone 9 Welfare Centre hall.
