The Aganang municipality outside Polokwane in Limpopo has abandoned many of its development projects after exhausting its budget.

One of the projects is Maatla-a-Basadi agricultural cooperative in Lepotlako village, west of Polokwane. The project was promised about R10500 as start-up capital.

Last year the municipality advertised tenders for Kalkspruit water reticulation and the Mohlajeng preschool, but cancelled these projects.

But municipal spokesman Matladi Raseona denied claims that the municipality was bankrupt. - Tebogo Tshipi
