A 12-year-old Mpumalanga schoolboy has been taken into police custody for the alleged rape of a schoolmate at Volksrus this week.
The incident occurred on a farm as the 12-year-old victim was walking home with friends after school on Monday afternoon, said police.
Superintendent Abby Khoabane of the eastern highveld area police said the alleged rape took place at about 2.30pm. He said the boy is scheduled to appear in the Volksrus magistrates' court today. - McKeed Kotlolo
