Pauline Moamogwa, 36, was miffed when her boyfriend handed over only R100 of his wages - so she stabbed him with a broken bottle, police said.

The woman, from Moshwana village, west of Mafikeng, was arrested on Saturday.

The state alleges that Moamogwa stabbed her common-law husband, Dineo Gift Moiloagotlhe, 36, behind the ear with a broken beer bottle.

She was angry because he had come home late and with less money than he usually gave her.

Captain Jacob Mothibi said: "It seems Moiloagotlhe always gives his wife R300, but on the fateful day he went somewhere and probably had some drinks.

"He arrived home with only R100 and some small change," said Mothibi.

Moamogwa is expected to appear in court soon. - Elisha Molefe
