Two robbers, who imitated the routine followed by cash-in-transit company SBV Securities, yesterday stole R1,5million from Standard Bank in Silverton, Pretoria, police said.

The two men apparently followed the procedures SBV usually adheres to before it collects money from a bank.

The robbers also had a key giving them access to the safe.

The robbery occurred at 1pm.

Standard Bank realised a robbery had occurred when the real SBV called to confirm they would be collecting money. - Sapa
