Cops seize gun used in robbery
Police have recovered six firearms, one of which was allegedly used to rob a spaza shop in Ilinge township near Queenstown.
Superintendent Gcinikaya Taleni said yesterday the firearm which was used in the robbery was recovered after a tip-off and four men were arrested over the crime.
He said the spaza shop owner was robbed after he was ambushed by the men, who held him at gunpoint and robbed him of stock and R300 in cash.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the four suspects who were found in possession of the firearm.
Taleni said all the firearms had been sent for ballistic tests.
