About an hour into the new year, the troubled pop tart was chatting up a male dancer in the VIP section of Pure, inside Caesars Palace, when she suddenly went down, witnesses said.
Spears' security guards quickly surrounded the singer to screen her from other revellers - while two dancers wrapped her in a blanket. Then they practically carried her out of the club, the witnesses said.
Spears "wasn't drinking that much", her manager, Larry Rudolph, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
"She had been travelling all day. She got real tired. It was a late night for her."
But witnesses told the paper that Spears, who had just led the countdown to the new year, may have been knocked off her Jimmy Choo shoes after mixing champagne with a rum and pineapple drink.
Spears, 25, has been on a rave since filing for divorce from impresario hubby Federline in November.
She was caught boozing it up with socialite Paris Hilton and Hollywood's Lindsay Lohan - and embarrassed herself by getting snapped "without panties".
Just before Christmas, Spears got yanked off the stage of a Hollywood burlesque club after she tried to perform a bump and grind of her own.
In a recent statement on her website, the mom of two conceded she might have taken her "new-found freedom a little too far". - New York Daily News
