Celtic will laud 'Bishop'
Bloemfontein Celtic will dedicate Sunday's Castle Premiership match against Santos to their number one supporter, Manny "Bishop" Motsielo.
The popular Motsielo was buried in Bloemfontein on Sunday.
The weekend match, one of the seven to open the 2007 campaign this weekend, takes place at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium at 3.45pm.
"It will be for the first time in a very long time that Celtic play without the presence of Bishop, hence we dedicate the game to him," said Sello Nduna, Celtic PRO.
"The man was always at our games, irrespective of where we played and also assisted in recruiting more people into the club.
"The management and executive of the supporters had a meeting where we also resolved to rename the Southern side of the grandstand after Bishop.
"That will make us always remember him. We urge the supporters and people of Free State to flock to the stadium on Sunday.
"As for the game itself, our boys are back at training after they were given a two-day break to celebrate New Year with their families.
"Everybody is hard at training as I'm talking to you. We are bracing ourself for a tough game against Santos. Our plan is to pocket the three points. We are aiming high as the start of the second round of the league is expecting to be a tough. We want to finish in the top four bracket.
"We owe Siwelele (Celtic supporters) a silverware. We are eyeing the Absa Cup to thank them for the support."
Nduna said they had several trialists who are still being assessed by the technical staff of Tony de Nobrega and Benjamin Reed.
Patrick Malokase, Celtic's golden striker, is also equally confident that Phunya SeleSele will do well as the second part of the season gets under way.
