The driver of a Mercedes-Benz went missing after his vehicle was washed away from the small bridge on the Brandon private road about 9.30pm on Monday.
The accident followed heavy rains in the area.
Khoabane said the man's car got stuck in the water overflowing the bridge.
He got out of the car but the current washed him away and he disappeared into the Brandon River. Police have been searching for the man since Monday night. - Sapa
