While the case between former Dynamos boss Pat Malabela and AmaZulu is still dragging on, Malabela is busy collecting thousands of rands from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) that is due to Usuthu.
On Wednesday Malabela received R860000 from the PSL that was meant for the troubled KwaZulu-Natal side. Malabela and AmaZulu boss Patrick Sokhela have been at loggerheads over the outstanding amount owed to Malabela, reported to be R27 million.
This is after Malabela sold Dynamos to Sokhela for R41 million in July.
PSL chief operations officer Ronnie Schloss said yesterday that R450 000 of the money given to Malabela on Wednesday was the Telkom Knockout Cup appearance fee for Usuthu.
Schloss said the remaining amount was part of the side's monthly grant. Malabela obtained a garnishee order from the Johannesburg high court against Usuthu three months ago.
"There is nothing we can do as PSL and we should oblige with the garnishee order," said Schloss yesterday.
Usuthu were due to be auctioned in Durban on December 13, but Sokhela successfully applied for an interdict against the auction, which was postponed until January 10.
