Kallis not honest on anthem

I have to hand it to Jacques Kallis. That he convinced Gerald Majola why he does not sing the national anthem is not surprising, but the reason given was a stroke of genius.

I have to hand it to Jacques Kallis. That he convinced Gerald Majola why he does not sing the national anthem is not surprising, but the reason given was a stroke of genius.

Yeah, his father loved the anthem so much that Kallis refuses to sing it because he does not want to be reminded of his father. Yet he sings it in his heart, which then lessens his memory of his father.

If Kallis does not believe in South Africa and all its symbols then I suggest he does whatever he pleases.

Contributing to needy causes does not excuse one from singing the national anthem if you represent the country in an event.

His initial response to the person who noticed that he was not singing was "stuff idiots". Why he even engaged in the debate beats me. He could have simply refused to respond.

We should be delighted that Kallis' father did not like cricket, otherwise he would have had to quit the sport in lieu of his father's memory. What a croc!

I have always supported cricket and not rugby, for obvious reasons. But I am sure that Majola and Kallis will understand my decision not to support cricket anymore.

My late father, who died the same year as Kallis' father, loved and played cricket. I will honour him by not supporting SouthAfrican cricket.
