Jomo Cosmos and SuperSport United yesterday went into the Christmas break having shared the spoils in a goalless Castle Premiership game played at the Huntersfield Stadium in Katlehong.

The home side started the game very well, taking it to United and pinning them in their own half.

They had good interchanges, especially between Bamuza Sono, Dikgang Mabalane, Anthony Laffor and captain Chris Katongo. Their only downfall was with the final pass, which brought many a good move to nought.

It was from one of these moves that Mabalane forced a great save from Dennis Onyango in United's goals.

Onyango stood in for the suspended Andre Arendse who was punished with his coach Pitso Mosimane. Both watched the game from the public stands.

United gradually came into the game with Teko Modise, James Chamanga and Dane Klate always threatening and bringing some fine saves from Ezenkosi's new Namibian goalkeeper Zico Shiningayamwe.

The second half took much the same pattern as the first but with United showing more aggression.

In a game of missed opportunities, especially by Cosmos, coach Jomo Sono and United assistant coach Thomas Madigage made all their substitutions but to no avail.

Cosmos' leading marks man Katongo had somewhat of a nightmare outing as he missed sitter after sitter, sometimes through anxiety.
