Durban's 2006 entertainment calendar is set to end on a high note with a music festival at the Hazelmere Dam on December 26.

Presented by MTN, the fourth edition of the festival offers an exciting line-up of Freshlyground, Zamajobe, Caiphus Semenya, Gloria Bosman, Mafikizolo, Basadi Women of Jazz, Andile Mseleku, Siphokazi, Zee, KZN Jazz Legends, Bophela, Brian Thusi, Four Wise Men, the Umkhumbane Ensemble and other local bands.

Freshlyground recently won an MTV award.

Other artists who will give the festival a boost include Busi Mhlongo, Stimela, featuring Ray Phiri and Nana Coyote, Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse and bassists Lucas Senyatso and Zamajobe.

The event will feature one stagefor Afro-jazz performances and another stage for Afro-pop.

The Durban Jazz Festival promises to be a fun day for family and friends with their picnic baskets.

Parents need not worry about their children because there will be an enclosed child-care centre, complete with jumping castles and other entertainment facilities.

The event starts at noon and tickets are available at R130 at Computicket and all Shoprite Checkers outlets.
