Pharmaceutical multinational Novartis has been urged to drop a legal challenge to the Indian government's patent laws.

The international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) said yesterday that if Novartis was successful it could affect access to cheap medicines, including Aids drugs, for millions worldwide.
