After reclaiming the Metropolitan Cosafa Under-20 Cup in Mmabatho last weekend, Amajita are off to Germany where they hope to keep their winning rhythm.

The youngsters have been invited to participate in the yearly DaimlerChrysler Youth Tournament in Berlin from January 6 to 8.

It will be the final tournament before the new-look Amajita, assembled by Serame "Rhee" Letsoaka, graduate to the under-23s next year.

"All the necessary arrangements have been put in place for Amajita to travel to Germany on January 3," said Barney Kujane, Safa national teams director.

"The draw for the tournament will be made on their arrival in Germany. It's good that the tournament comes soon after their superb achievement in Mmabatho.

"It was an excellent way to end the year and we congratulate coach Serame and the entire team for a job well done."

The South African under-20 national team, captained by goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, beat Zambia 2-1 to win the Cosafa Under-20 Cup in Mmabatho on Sunday. Bafana Sibeko and Thulani Maseko scored for the hosts, while Zambian captain Sebastian Mwanza netted for the 2003 champions.

Letsoaka said: "We made a promise to the whole of South Africa just before the start of the tournament that we will deliver a gold medal.

I'm proud of the boys, though it was a tough in the qualifying rounds. I want to thank all the people who contributed to the success of the team."
