James Dlamini, AmaZulu operations manager, has hailed the arrival of Ted Dumitru at the team and reckons the Romanian's vast coaching experience will help guide Usuthu to a new level.

Dumitru has been appointed the side's technical director and he marked his arrival at Usuthu with a 1-0 win over Black Leopards at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu last Saturday.

Dlamini said their success against Leopards has sent confidence soaring in their camp.

He is confident that they will clip Moroka Swallows' wings today.

They engage the Birds in a Castle Premiership fixture in KwaMashu that kicks off at 3.45pm.

"We are more desperate than Swallows to win this match to improve our [bottom] position on the log," Dlamini said.

AmaZulu are not only relying on Dumitru's technical nous to succeed, but also on their 12th player, their supporters.

"Our supporters have a crucial role to play in terms of motivating the players," said Dlamini.

"Women will not be charged at the stadium tomorrow [today] and we encourage our male supporters to come with their partners to matches."

Swallows go to KwaMashu buoyed by their 2-0 win over Santos on Sunday.

"We anticipate a tough match against AmaZulu and we are not going to take them lightly," said Gavin Hunt, Swallows' coach, yesterday.

John "Shoes" Moshoeu's experience will add impetus to the AmaZulu midfield where he is likely to be assisted by equally capable players like Soul Mmethi and Nhlanhla Zwane.

Senegalese striker Mame Niang should be the Birds' hope upfront.
