CAIRO - Imprisoned Egyptian politician Ayman Nour underwent heart tests under tight security and his wife, Gameela Ismail, could not see him before, during or after his 10-hour stay in hospital, Ismail said yesterday.

CAIRO - Imprisoned Egyptian politician Ayman Nour underwent heart tests under tight security and his wife, Gameela Ismail, could not see him before, during or after his 10-hour stay in hospital, Ismail said yesterday.

Nour, who is serving a five-year jail term on fraud charges, had the cardiac catheterisation procedure at a government hospital in Cairo on Monday.

"Police refused to let us communicate with him," said Ismail at the hospital. - Reuters
