The Metropolitan Cosafa Under-20 Cup, a southern African development tournament featuring 12 countries, reaches its climax this weekend.

The semifinals are scheduled for Itsoseng Stadium, with hosts Amajita taking on Zimbabwe in the second match at 4.30pm.

Malawi, the only country to have won all their group games in the tournament, meet Zambia in the first game at 2pm.

It will be the second clash in three days for South Africa and Zimbabwe after they played to a 1-1 draw in their final Group A match on Wednesday.

The Zimbabweans finished on top of the group thanks to a superior goal difference after the teams ended level on seven points from three games.

Serame Letsoaka, Amajita coach, said: "Though we played well against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, I was not happy with our finishing. We missed dozens of scoring opportunities, that is why we have dedicated the past two days to perfecting our finishing.

"We would like to promise the people of Itsoseng and surrounding areas that they will see a more improved Amajita. We are marching to the final.

"For me the most important thing is to be in the final, but the boys promised to graduate in style by winning the tournament.

"Everybody in the team is well aware that we are going to assemble a new team next year in preparations for the 2009 African Youth Championships."

Tournament director Sipho Nkumane said the final is at Mmabatho Stadium at 4.30pm on Sunday. The third-place playoff is at 1.30pm.
