He kept a low profile after his Press Play album flopped, but musician Preston Vusi Sihlangu is back with a bang - he is opening a jazz club.
Sihlangu's Joint Jazz Club will cater for "mature" patrons and will feature the country's best jazz artists.
The club will open this month.
Sihlangu said he intends to keep the dreams of jazz musicians alive.
"I think hip-hop, house and kwaito musicians have always had a platform. There are many night clubs that promote their music. But jazz has been neglected for far too long."
He said his club will feature established artists as well as newcomers.
"My club will give young groups a platform from which they can show off their talent. I also want the club to inspire children who are studying music at school."
Sihlangu said he hoped to release another jazz album next year, this time something that will define him.
"I know my last album was not what people expected. I didn't like it either."
The Bloemfontein-born artist does not only focus only on music, he is also a producer of note. He has produced Somizi Mhlongo and Arthur Mafokate's album Sika Lekhekhe.
Sihlangu began his solo career with his album Cry No More two years ago, but that was when he was still a part of the Coca-Cola Pop Star group called 101.
