Pretoria University, alias AmaTuks, are riding the crest of a wave in the Mvela Golden League this season and their coach, Sammy Troughton, attributes their success to the sheer commitment of his youngsters.

AmaTuks are playing fantastic football this season and it is not surprising that they are third on the log behind leaders Free State Stars and FC AK.

They are two points off the pace and remain strong contenders for promotion.

AmaTuks reinforced their title hopes with a 1-0 win over GaRankuwa United in Rustenberg in one of the matches played on Sunday.

Troughton, whose charges finished in a lowly 11th position last season, was modest when asked about their chances of winning the league title this time.

"I don't think we are ready to wear the crown this season. My players are still learning, but I must say that they are learning fast," he said.

Troughton also hailed the facilities at the university.

"We have excellent training equipment and we prepare our players well for matches," he said.

"Steve Barker is also doing a great job as the head of coaches at the university."
