The Metro Police and the SAPS tend to focus on trivial matters.

Many people lose their lives during the festive season due to police incompetence. An important issue to tackle is tow truck operators who sit at intersections waiting for accidents to happen. They should be investigated because they allegedly kill and injure innocent people.

There were allegations of tow truck operators pouring oil on roads to make them slippery. The latest allegation is that they tamper with traffic lights by twisting them to mislead motorists, leading to fatal accidents. These are much more serious matters of concern than impounding borrowed vehicles.

The arrogance of the police does not help. If they want to serve and protect the citizens, they must learn to listen to these same citizens, who are the victims.

Listening is a skill and if you do not have it you will always misunderstand and misinterpret things. As far as the police is concerned, I rest my case.
