Senaoane Gunners, who campaign in the SAB Regional League, have roped in top sport physician Sello Motaung to put their players through various scientific tests.
Mike "Nanana" Ntombela, Gunners' chairman, said Motaung will visit their training fields in Senaoane on a regular basis to test the players.
Gunners, alias Amavarara, who received a R590000 sponsorship from giant dairy foods company, Montic in Heidelberg last Sunday, have seven divisions.
The Soweto-based side's most successful division to date are their under-17s who surprised all and sundry by winning the Safa Southern Gauteng league title.
They upstaged professional clubs with sound financial support like Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Silver Stars and Jomo Cosmos.
"Conducting scientific tests is the only way to go for any club that has the interest of their players at heart, that is why we have decided to go the same route," said Ntombela.
"Dr Motaung will be helping us a great deal. We have identified several youngsters with potential who have been put on a programme for scientific tests."
Ntombela said the financial support from the dairy foods company will enable them to pay for the transport and allowances of the players.
"We have many boys who are still at school, so we will be paying them allowances, otherwise some of them will go to clubs where they will give them huge incentives."
Ntombela said he was also looking at encouraging the community for more involvement in the running of Amavarara.
"We are also looking at getting a partner who will serve on the board of Gunners. We want to run the club in a professional way.
"We are also looking at establishing a formal supporters' club. One of the other things I have in mind is to start a burial club."
