Professor Bonganjalo Goba, the vice chancellor and principal of Durban University of Technology, has resigned.

His resignation comes in the wake of the release of a damning forensic report that has resulted in the suspension of six staff at the university in connection with allegations of corruption.

The allegations are being investigated by the Scorpions.

The forensic report recommended that staff and service providers of the university implicated in the fraud and corruption be suspended.
