Ignituis Bestrobolios of Bruma Lake, Johannesburg, was in his bakkie chatting with a friend on Wednesday, police said.
"A man appeared from nowhere waving a firearm. He ordered Bestrobolios' friend to lie flat on the floor."
A few seconds later, the friend heard a gunshot.
The attacker fled after shooting and killing Bestrobolios.
