The suspect from Jerusalem near Hazyview had asked the girl, 14, to accompany him to the local shop.
Mpumalanga Lowveld police spokesman Superintendent Mtsholi Bhembe said when the two reached a dark place the man told the girl that she was sexy and grabbed her, taking her into the bushes where he allegedly raped her.
He then left the girl and fled .
"The suspect is known and will be arrested soon," said Bhembe.
l In a separate incident in Masoyi, a 17- year-old girl was raped by her cousin's boyfriend on Monday night. Bhembe said the girls were asleep when the suspect knocked at the window. When they opened the door he dragged the girl that was not his girlfriend outside and raped her.
