Boxing great Peter "Terror'' Mathebula and Athletics South Africa president Leonard Chuene are two of the sports personalities who were inducted into the South African Sport Hall of Fame at a glitzy ceremony at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park yesterday.
They were among the 32 local and 22 international personalities to be given recognition.
Some of the well-known names inducted include administrators such as Irvin Khoza, the Orlando Pirates chairman who also holds the same title in the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee and the PSL, and Danny Jordaan, the chief executive of the LOC.
Also recognised are former footballers including Amakhosi chairman Kaizer Motaung and Ezenkosi boss and one-time Bafana Bafana World Cup coach, Jomo Sono.
