Though it is still early to predict who is likely to be relegated from the Mvela Golden League (MGL) this season, PJ Stars' performance so far this term makes them strong candidates for relegation.

The Soweto club is currently second from bottom with nine points from a possible 39.

They continued with their losing streak on Sunday when they were pipped 0-1 by the resurgent Walter da Silva's Durban Stars in Meadowlands.

Despite their woeful campaign this term, their coach Professor Chipeya is still adamant they will survive in the MGL.

"We might be down, but certainly not out and will regroup soon," said Chipeya, adding that there was a need for some reinforcements at the team.

"We are lacking up front and we have to get some experienced players when the transfer window period opens in January."

Like Chipeya, Walter Rautmann is also hopeful he will help his struggling GaRankuwa United to avoid the axe. United, who drew 1-all against City Pillars in NkowaNkowa on Sunday, are currently floundering at the bottom of the log without a win in 13 matches.

Fidentia Rangers beat OR Tambo District Cosmos 2-1 at Walter Sisulu University Stadium. Western Province United pipped Vasco da Gama 2-1 at Blue Downs Stadium.
