Batau Killers' coach Macdonald "Bambino" Makhubedu believes his soccer side will win the Mpumalanga Vodacom men's promotional league.

Killers' narrowly beat Henemart FC 1-0 on Saturday. Killers, formerly known as Ermelo Everest Young Killers, underwent a name change recently.

Zweli "Schumacher" Manana scored the solitary goal.

Makhubedu said they are targeting winning the league and gaining promotion to Mvela Golden League next season.

"We have been working hard and the players are hungry for success," he said.

Makhubedu has been in charge of the team in their last seven games, winning six and drawing one.

They are joint log leaders with Mpumalanga Black Aces with 27 points after 14 games each.

"The squad we have assembled is ready to fight and we have some experienced players who are helping the youngsters to remain motivated."

Killers have the likes of Kitto de Stefano, former Umtata Bush Bucks' striker, on their books.

Other results: Barberton City Stars 2, Walter Stars 2; Middelburg Saints 0, Black Aces 0; Secunda Eagles 2, ELB Movers 0; Leandra 4, FC Benfica 1; Sekhukhune Masters 2, FC Barcelona 0; FC Spurs 1, FC Sporting 0.
