Rasta Nathaniel Blake, the secretary of the influential Global Elders Council, describes the South African government's decision to pass the Civil Union Bill as stupid, a big mistake and a total disregard of God's natural order of creation.
Blake, of Chicago in the US, has been in the country since November 1 to promote African unity.
"I am disappointed with the passing of the law because it further confuses God's people," he says.
"This is a serious blow to the entrenchment of an African value-based society. It is stupid."
