Another star exits soapie
The exodus continues on Muvhango, the popular SABC2 Tshivenda drama series.
Shoki Mmola, who plays Tumi in the show, yesterday told Sowetan that she filmed her last scenes on the series last week. But viewers will see her until next year.
The gifted actress, who recently got married to Sello Sebotsane, said she left because she needed new challenges and also wanted to focus on her marriage.
In the past two years Muvhango has lost Joyce Skefu, playing Doris; Aubrey Pooe as Pelo; Shonisani Muleya, Simon; Richard Nwamba, Johnny; Mpho Tsedu playing Edward; and Lindi Chibi and Khanyisile Mbau - both of whom played Doobsie.
Mmola yesterday said: "Yes, I am taking a break from Muvhango.
"I'm not going to renew my contract because I need new challenges in life. I am positive that I will find new projects that will keep me busy.
"I left Muvhangoon a good note and it was great feeling to be part of the show."
Tumi is the manager of Turning Heads in the drama.
Surprisingly, Duma Ka Ndlovu, the executive producer of the series, pleaded ignorance of Mmola's departure from the show when approached for comment yesterday.
He said: "I don't know anything about her leaving Muvhango, but if this is what she is saying, you must take her word for it."
