Internationally acclaimed multi-award-winning musical duo Bebe and Cece Winans will mesmerise their Eastern Cape fans at Nelson Mandela Bay this weekend.

The Winans - who have sold millions of recordings throughout the world - will perform at a concert staged as part of the fight to stop the spread of HIV-Aids at the Eastern Province Rugby Union Stadium tomorrow.

The concert is part of the national 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children and will also be one of the many events marking World Aids Day today.

Well-known for its beautiful coastline, Eastern Cape will become even more glamorous this weekend with the lineup of local artists, including the Lusanda Spiritual Group.

A spokesman for Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, Kupido Baron, said a unique blend of experienced and young talent would be enjoyed by Eastern Cape music revellers.

"This concert is part of fighting HIV-Aids and especially [to instil in] young people a shared sense of common nationhood and common effort to define the content of our shared destiny," he said.

Baron said the people of the Eastern Cape were friendly and creative, but they had been bypassed by international music legends and was now the right time to stage a concert of this standard.

Tickets are available at Computicket for R165.
