South Africa will host the international Council of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) Championships for the eighth year.
The youth tournament will be played in North West.
The event was launched in Johannesburg yesterday, when the draw was also conducted.
Games kick off on December 8 with the final on December 17.
Twelve sides from different countries will contest the championship that will be divided into three groups: A, B and C sections.
Safa president Molefi Oliphant said the championship was an international tournament.
"The event is an international youth tournament involving the under-20 national teams from 12 southern African countries who compete in playoffs to produce a regional winner," he said.
"The tournament is a platform where future talent for the 2010 World Cup can be identified."
The games will be played at Itsoseng, Lehurutshe and Mmabatho stadiums.
Teams will arrive next Wednesday and will start training the following day.
This year's tournament is sponsored by Metropolitan.
Group executive of the sponsors, Nkosinathi Chonco, said the sponsorship will further boost soccer development in southern Africa and prepare young and up- and-coming talent for the 2010 Fifa World Cup and beyond.
The teams:
Group A - South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Group B - Madagascar, Mozambique, Zambia and Angola. Group C - Lesotho, Botswana, Mauritius and Malawi.
