Matsawa Tema, chairman of Lebowa Funeral Parlour, says they are strongly considering sponsoring the Top 8 softball tournament every year.

"We are still going to meet as a board this discuss this matter, but we are happy with the way this tournament went on Saturday," said Tema yesterday.

"The crowd was fantastic and the matches were equally enthralling. Softball is a sport that has gained momentum in Limpopo and is the right sport to invest in. We will make a final decision before the end of the week."

Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts beat Mamaolo Rebels 6-3 in the final at Seshego diamonds on Saturday. It is sponsored for R45 000 as part of the company's 30th anniversary celebrations.

Polelo Masola, Wildbeasts' chairman, yesterday attributed their success to teamwork.

"The players managed to rise to the occasion and won this tournament. Winning this competition will go a long way in motivating the players in their league campaign. We dedicate this win to our late pitcher, Brightly Sebapo," said the stocky Wildbeasts boss.

Rebels beat Moletlane Texas 3-1 and Wildbeasts accounted for favourites Seleteng Giant Killers 6-2 to reach the final.
