Khotso Motau is itching to make his debut under Golden Gloves.

He will share the ring with Cassius Baloyi, Mpush Makambi and Andre Thysse in promoter Rodney Berman's tournament at Emperors Palace on February 3.

Berman's spokesman Terry Pettifer said Motau, 23, will defend his South African middleweight belt against Xolani Ngemntu.

"I want to leave an everlasting impression," Motau said. "I am delighted to share the ring with top fighters like Mpush and Cassius."

Baloyi will attempt to reclaim the IBO junior lightweight belt he lost to Gairy St Clair on July 29. St Clair forfeited that title after losing his IBF belt to Malcolm Klassen on November 11.

Pettifer said Laila Ali, the daughter of heavyweight legend Muhamad Ali, would top their "Box Fest" bill.

A couple of female fighters have been suggested to Berman but Petiffer said they were looking for a credible opponent.

"We will announce her name as soon as we are sure," said Petiffer on Wednesday.

Peter Mashamaite will defend his IBO Intercontinental super middleweight belt against Makambi, while Thysse and Daniel Bruwer will meet in a rematch. They thrilled fans with their no-holds-barred action on August 31 last year.

Thysse outpointed Bruwer and retained his national super middleweight belt, which he vacated a few months back.

It is unclear what will be at stake in their second clash.
