Eastern Cape's Department of Roads and Transport has been inundated with complaints about potholed roads.

Provincial roads and transport spokesman Ncedo Kumbaca said seven contractors had been employed to repair the potholes in the Cacadu region.

He said the department was committed to minimising problems for motorists.

"We hope to have our surfaced roads fairly pothole-free by the beginning of the holiday season, when many people will be travelling."
