Nozipho Priscilla Morudu was a remarkable woman.
Born on October 27 1930, she died on Monday.
Morudu matriculated at Healdtown in Fort Beaufort and followed a career in nursing.
She married Daniel Boyd Morudu in 1958 and they had five children, Tshepo, Mohlabane, Tebogo, Kabelo and Morongoa.
She did her nursing practicals at Baragwanath Hospital for general nursing, Livingstone Hospital for psychiatry and midwifery and Pretoria Hospital for radiography.
She then returned to Baragwanath, where she took up permanent employment until 1966.
After realising that her true passion lay in managing her own business, she left nursing and opened, and managed, a successful family business called The Old Barn Store from 1966 until 1983.
Morudu didn't only manage the family business, she was also a devoted member of the Methodist Church, a church she was introduced to while growing up in "eBofolo" in the Eastern Cape.
Morudu was always eager to lend a helping hand, which made her an outstanding member of the Women's Ministry.
She is survived by her sister, Delia Zani, her children and 13 grandchildren.
Morudu will be buried tomorrow at Wespark Cemetery. The service will be held at her home at 9.30am and the cortege will leave at 11.30am.
