Maritzburg United will have to convert pressure into points when they host the star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns in a Castle Premiership game at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

United have vowed to register their second win at home against the experienced Brazilians.

The home side have not been playing as well as they could as they struggled to find the net.

But the side's public relations officer, Senzo Msimang, believes that now is as good a time as any to start winning consistently, particularly at home.

Their first win at home was against Jomo Cosmos two weeks ago and they hope to register their second against the Brazilians.

"Our win against Cosmos has bolstered the side's morale and everybody is looking forward to our next game," said Msimang.

"We've been working on a number of strategies for some time and we hope we'll triumph."

The absence of Bradley August, who is injured and Sandile Ndlovu, who will not be fielded because of a contractual obligation between the two teams, could affect the home side's strike force adversely.

But they are not perturbed because they know what is expected of them.

Kabamba Musasa, Welcome Qalato and Collen Zimba could do the job for United. Their defence will be manned by Nkosinathi Ngema, Japie Motale and Siyabonga Mdluli.

Sundowns' general manager Walter Kutumela, said they were meeting a closed book in United but have set themselves a target of collecting the full points before the Christmas break. David Kannemeyer and Esrom Nyandoro are suspended, and Brian Baloyi is injured.

Sundowns will depend on Surprise Moriri, Josta Dladla, Godfrey Sapula and Benson Mhlongo.
