Mpumalanga police believe that the penis found outside a house in Mahushu near Hazyview is linked to a ritual murder.
The police have gone all out in their search for a man who has lost his penis, but had not found him by late yesterday.
"We cannot rule out muti killing, anything is possible, but we have not found anything yet and the search for the man continues," a police spokesman said yesterday.
The penis is being kept in a government mortuary during the police investigation.
The man who found what he at first thought was a piece of meat lying on the ground outside his house on Friday was shocked when he realised that it was a human adult's penis.
The man says he now fears for his life.
