A battle for supremacy between boxers from Gauteng and those from Limpopo will take place at Park Station tomorrow night.

The fights form the greater part of promoter Pat Molefe's seven-bout professional tournament. Fight fans will gain free entry.

Topping the Rainbow Promotion programme is a national championship fight between defending champion Oscar Chauke from Limpopo and Takatso Hlahane.

The challenger hails from Snakepark, an informal settlement near Dobsonville, in Soweto.

Chauke was feasting on second-tier opponents just a few months ago.

He leapfrogged to the top of the division with a 10-round stoppage win over Mzikayise Mchasi on August 19.

With his all newly-found success and glory Chauke must avoid his habit of show boating, loss of concentration and leaving himself open when retreating from close quarters.

Hlahane is capable of causing an upset. He has a far better style of fighting than Chauke. He is also a well-schooled fighter with patience, which he learnt from the lengthy time he spent in the amateur ranks.

The tournament starts at 7.30pm.
